" Siam City hotel"   by JimInNanaimo

Good Morning, The Siam City hotel is very nice and is handy to many interesting sites such as the Grand Palace, Wat Phra kaeo, and also to the river where Boat Service can be used to get around and also see the city from a beautiful vantage. It can be quite romantic.

"“A fresh hotel with Thai atmosphere”"   by ahi-nama
Traveler Rating :
Our Thai hosts were selected this centrally located hotel for a week-long training session. We were living in the lower Ayutthaya Wing Tower on the 7th floor, with our conference room (Rattanakosin) at the Ground level. Very convenient. Rooms were good and clean. Wireless internet only in the lobby area, but we were offered a modem in our room and could choose a 4 hours- or 8 hours password to be used the full week. Swimming-pool was at the 6th floor in the higher central tower (Siam Wing). Here some guests were making a lot of noise, were diving and jumping, without any reactions from the pool staff. Fortunately the water cascades were not damaging the electronic devices (digital camera, mp3-player), but an irritating atmosphere was caused. Breakfast and lunches were excellent but food at the hotel was also expensive compared to what you could get outside the hotel

"“Charming, attentive first clas service, convenient location, loved it!”"   by TSR75

We booked the Siam city hotel with the club siam option to take advantage of the twin room and the club facilities - wow. It can't have been more than £5 extra a night but this entitled us to an exceptional breakfast - full english, croissants, pastries, fruit, make your own museli, curries, soups, yoghurts, in sumptuous surroundings on the 21st floor, in addition to free internet use and a free drink during happy hour (accompanied by snacks - although really these were a meal!). It was pure decadence! After we had booked I read one review that worried me about the service having deteriorated, but I found it to be exceptional, from the front desk staff, to the restaurant and bar staff who seem to pride themselves on being able to do anything for you, from translating the word "padlock", and "I'm allergic to nuts", to drawing maps for when we moved on to Koh Samui. We were also able to leave our luggage there for the week (free of charge unlike at the airport which would have cost 100THB per day), and we were so pleased to sit down to a drink in the bar near the lobby, listening to the piano being played, when we returned. The hotel manages to balance comfort (fab beds!) with charming, helpful service, while maintaining a distinctly thai flavour, with personal touches which we found to be sadly lacking when we stayed elsewhere in Bangkok for one night. If we hadn't already booked that night we would certinaly have gone back to the Siam City hotel. The staff were professional, and the hotel facilities were excellent. We used the gym (3 running machines, weights, cross trainer, step machines, benches etc) and the pool daily, and ate in 2 of the restaurants. Gorgeous food and so cheap compared to London! Everything felt like an occasion, where people had made an effort to improve our stay. I would love to go back....very soon!!
