We stayed in the Krunthep Wing and it was fantastic.
The Shangri La is literally walking distance from the Oriental & the Sheratonand has its own pier from which you can hire longtail water taxis & book canal boat tours. Aslo if a river view while eating is important, I'd probably recommend the Sala Thai
restaurant.
