-Free wifi in the rooms -Amazingly friendly and helpful staff -Very clean, luxurious hotel -Nice neighborhood if you're into eating, shopping, bars and going out -Some security guy dressed like a sheriff by the elevator
-The wifi could use a speed upgrade -Loud neighborhood if you're not into bars and going out -Might not be affordable for everyone
I was really impressed and pleased with the President Solitaire. I have stayed in over 6 different hotels so far throughout Thailand and trust me, President Solitaire is my all time favorite. True it is slightly expansive, as it is a 5 stars hotel, but compared to most of the hotel 5 stars in Bangkok? Especially in that area? You really get more than what you paid for! I booked the Platinum Suite and it was perfect. Not the slightest piece of dust or dirt. The bed was amazingly comfortable, which was a first for a hotel in Bangkok, and the staff was just amazing. The house cleaning crew is quick and efficient. With central room control you can tell them wether or not you want your room cleaned up. The people at the front desk are always there to help you, answer your questions, and open the door for you. Plus, there's a security guy by the elevator who looks like a 12 years old kid dressing up as a sheriff for Halloween! Trust me, he's the shit. True the hotel mini-bar and restaurant is kind of expansive, but it's like that everywhere. Just go out the hotel and you can find anything you want within a 5 minutes walk. Convenience stores, bars, restaurants, street markets, stores, even a pizza hut! You can find everything you want within walking distance. The neighborhood is a bit sketchy, lots of the shady things you heard of about Thailand, but it's also filled with nice things to see. If you're into shopping, there are people selling on the streets pretty much everywhere, and there are two major shopping center where you can find amazing things for pretty cheap. Food wise, I can't tell. I rarely eat at the hotels I book. I can tell the prices were slightly more expansive then other restaurants around the area, but it's like that with every hotel. I suggest you do like me, walk around, explore, and you can get a nice fancy meal for a few dollars. I really don't know what else to say about the hotel. Just book it and you'll see for yourself!
Restaurant Tip : Don't eat at the hotel as you will most likely pay twice than you would on any other restaurant on the street
